Bring your inner belly dancer to the board room

Workshops to help you increase your confidence, build your personal brand, embrace your entrepreneurial spirit, and own your power.

Workshop Topics

Suhaila Salimpour brings real world training from her 30+ years as a professional dance instructor, performer, professional speaker, communications coach, director of an international school, and actor to these fun and interactive workshops.

You might think that a belly dancer is just a pretty girl in a revealing costume. But the skills you need to survive as a professional belly dancer include an entrepreneurial spirit, sharp business sense, fierce tenacity, a very tough skin, sensitive cross-cultural awareness, and the charisma to command some of the toughest audiences on the planet. Sound familiar?

As a solo woman entrepreneur, Suhaila has built an international career as a performer, instructor, and director of a worldwide school of dance. In this workshop, she’ll guide you through exercises drawn from her lifetime of experience, so that you can bring your inner belly dancer into any challenging professional situation you encounter, with a performance that will bring down the house!

What do you stand for? What do you want to be known for? Are those ideas the same? We’re building our personal brand every day, with every decision we make… or don’t make. Suhaila has been building her personal brand since she was a child, and since then has grown her business into an international brand.

In this session, you’ll learn how to best communicate your skills, values, and unique personality so that you can differentiate yourself from the crowd and be recognized for your talents and strengths.

According to a recent Gallup poll, 8 out of 10 Americans say they feel stress sometimes or frequently on a typical day. While we might not be able to reduce our ongoing obligations, we can learn to manage that stress through mindful movement and moving meditation.

You will be guided through movement exercises to release your stress and find inner calm. You can use these concepts long after the workshop has finished to help you enjoy more restful sleep and increased energy.

You’ve probably heard that over 75% of our communication is non-verbal, that is, in our body posture and position, vocal tone, and facial expressions. But when was the last time you examined how others interpret what you’re projecting?

In this workshop, you will be guided through exercises to get in touch with your instincts, identify your intentions, and be given the tools to craft your non-verbal communication to get your message across in the way that you intend. And we’ll also examine how others read your body and voice, giving you a greater sense of personal power and control.

Without our breath, we have no life. And when we can manage our breath, we can moderate our physical and emotional selves. We can even use our breathing to reduce our blood pressure and stress levels.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to control your breath through vocalizations and movement. You’ll also learn how to use your breathing to build your personal presence, command a room, and project your intention with power and poise.

You know the saying: You only get one chance to make a first impression. In fact, it only takes 7 seconds for someone to make up their mind about you, and it’s very difficult to change people’s minds once they’ve formed an opinion.

So how are you going to make the best first impression you can? By entering the room with power and poise. In this workshop we’ll examine our posture, gait, and facial expressions and refine them so you can leave the impression you want, in any situation.

Where you stand, where you look, and when you change your body position can have an unconscious and compelling effect on your audience and the people around you. When you understand these simple principles, you’ll easily convey any message with charisma and mastery.

Learn to command your audiences with your placement and gaze with Suhaila’s simple, yet effective, Grid system. You’ll be better able to manage a room, cultivate a sense of personal power, and leave an indelible impression on your listeners.

“Suhaila truly cares deeply about everyone who comes to learn from her. What they don’t know is that if they stick with her, their lives will be transformed. She has an uncanny ability to see each individual’s potential, as well as the skills and dedication to help them reach it.”

“Suhaila has a unique and effective ability of getting to the core of an idea or emotion, and helping the participant to realize their truth in a way that is deeply personal and true. I have been on the receiving end of this work many times, and the way that I approach my creative process has been fundamentally changed to yield deeper and more meaningful work.”

Angelique Hanesworth
Director, Kaleidoscope Arts Center

“The emotional work we do in the Salimpour School has set me free as a performing artist. There aspects of interaction and reaction that I didn't know existed, but are essential for the stage and presentation of any kind. Going through this process of stage/audience awareness has allowed me to step onto any stage and feel confident with myself, my emotional projection, the audience, and how we interact together. It has allowed me to be vulnerable enough to create an artistic experience that is deeper on many levels and doesn't feel fake for the audience. I am no longer afraid of being in front of people presenting works that are not native to my own culture. This work has truly set me free.”
